A week back, a photographer of great repute contacted me. Richard Wong was making a day trip up to my area, hoping to capture some wonderful wildflowers. He had already chosen the location, just a mere 40 minutes from my place on the Central Coast. So, of course I joined him!
We met in Los Olivos, and caravanned up the hill. Now, if you’re gonna follow our footsteps, make sure to hit the Los Padres National Forest Ranger Station, in Goleta (near Santa Barbara). You’ll need an Adventure Pass, in order to enter the National Forest. If you visit any of the National Parks or Forests regularly, you probably already have the all encompassing season pass. The day pass was only $5, so just do it!
Go here, if you want more info, to convince you of the beauty.
Once on the hill, just before the larger campground area, we stopped in at the Ranger Station for some quick tips. Make sure to do the same!
Check out my map below, with 3 recommended places you’ll see the wonderful flowers. Head out soon though, because they’ll quickly pass.
